€3,000 raised for
Cork homeless

A charity dog walk held by MacCarthy's Bar raised €3,000 for the voluntary Outreach group to help the homeless people of Cork at Christmas, 2019.

Walk organiser Adrienne MacCarthy said: ‘I’m absolutely over the moon with the amount raised. It will make such a difference to people over Christmas and the New Year. We’ve proved again how kind the people of Beara are.’

She thanked sponsors Castletownbere vet Brian Murphy and Hallisseys of Kenmare for donations of dog treats, Kennedy Printing, Bantry, for registration cards, Cormac and Deccy for use of Dinish Island – and, of course, all the dogs and owners on the walk, which took place on December 1, 2019, and everyone else who made donations.
